🏑 Wolverhampton City Hockey Champions – Back-to-Back Winners!

Wolverhampton City Hockey Tournament 2026

We are incredibly proud to announce that D’Eyncourt are Wolverhampton City Hockey Champions for the second year running, once again lifting the prestigious Sue Myers Hockey Trophy!

After last year’s success, preparations began back in September. With a squad full of talent, determination, and enthusiasm, we made the exciting decision to enter two teams into this year’s competition. Every player showed outstanding commitment, attending hockey club every Friday after school—whatever the weather!

A Fantastic Team Effort

This afternoon, both teams travelled to Aldersley to compete, and they did not disappoint.

D’Eyncourt ‘Red’ Team

Our Red team may have had less experience, but they made up for it with incredible spirit and determination. Their hard work paid off as they progressed all the way to the playoffs for 3rd place. Although it wasn’t their day in the final match, finishing 4th overall is a phenomenal achievement—well done to all involved!

D’Eyncourt ‘Blue’ Team

Our Blue team included many players from last year’s winning squad, alongside some talented new Year 5 additions. They were outstanding throughout the tournament, winning every game in their group to secure a place in the final.

In a repeat of last year’s showdown, they faced Wolverhampton Grammar School. Displaying confidence, skill, and teamwork, our pupils controlled the game and successfully retained the championship title, bringing the Sue Myers Trophy back to D’Eyncourt once again!

An amazing achievement by all—well done, D’Eyncourt! 🏆🏑
