Schools Across Our Trust Celebrate 80 Years Since VE Day
Yesterday, schools across our Trust proudly marked 80 years since Victory in Europe (VE) Day, coming together to commemorate the brave souls who made the ultimate sacrifice during World War II.
Staff and students took part in a variety of activities throughout the day, including quizzes, creating and waving flags, and enjoying themed lunches and picnics. The celebrations provided a wonderful opportunity for pupils to learn about the significance of VE Day while embracing the spirit of remembrance in a fun and meaningful way.
D’Eyncourt Primary in Wolverhampton celebrated by having street parties inside of the ir classrooms, whilst learning about 1940’s games and listening to 1940’s Music. Whilst in Rotherham, Coleridge Primary School had an amazing themed school lunch to celebrate and remember.
It has been amazing to hear our school’s stories, witness the enthusiasm of our school communities, and see everyone join together in reflection. This special day not only honoured those who fought for peace and freedom but also helped younger generations understand the importance of remembering the past.
Our Trust is proud of the creativity, respect, and joy shown across all our schools on such a historic occasion.
