Supporting Prostate Cancer UK: Our Commitment to The Big Golf Race
This year, our Moseley Park school is proud to support The Big Golf Race to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK. This initiative is close to everyone’s hearts, and we are excited to hear about their journey contributing to such a vital cause.
What is The Big Golf Race?
The Big Golf Race is not just a day on the golf course; it’s a significant challenge where participants aim to complete 72 holes in one day. Each hole played helps drive lifesaving research and raises awareness about prostate cancer.
Why This Matters
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, affecting 1 in 8 men and claiming over 12,000 lives each year. It impacts families, communities, and institutions like ours. Despite its prevalence, there is still no routine screening programme, leading to late diagnoses and limited treatment options.
A few years ago, we participated in a similar challenge for MacMillan Cancer Support, raising over £1,500. The experience, though physically demanding, was incredibly rewarding. This year, we aim to surpass that amount and make an even greater impact.
Join Moseley Park in Making a Difference
The Big Golf Race will take place at Stafford Castle Golf and Leisure. We invite our community to support us in this endeavor. Together, we can drive change and provide hope for men everywhere.
