Pete Bourton

Pete retired from the role of Headteacher in 2019 after a 32 year career in teaching. He worked in five secondary schools in four different local authorities – Sandwell, Solihull Wolverhampton and Shropshire.

Starting as a PE teacher Pete worked for 21 years in senior leadership teams, in roles as Assistant Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, and for the last eight years of his career as Headteacher. During his tenure as Headteacher Pete led Idsall School through three Ofsted inspections each receiving an overall judgement of Good.

After retiring from teaching Pete served as a Governor of Westcroft and WVTC for the three years prior to becoming a Director at CLPT.

In his spare time, Pete and his wife Helen are Chair and Vice Chair of Newport Girls’ Football Club which runs 10 teams in Newport, Shropshire. He is also a keen golfer and season ticket holder at Aston Villa FC.
